A story

It was probably the worst day in Kelly’s life. The day she got divorced. Her marriage was a one big mistake, but she has felt upset anyway. In addition, when she was leaving a court, it started to rain. She got completely wet. “It couldn’t be worse” she thought. But life showed her that it could be – she got ill and wasn’t able to work for a week. So she was lying alone at home, getting more and more bored and depressed. Even their friends didn’t know how to help her. He didn’t want to talk with anyone.
One day Kelly was surfing the internet without any concrete aim. Suddenly she came across an offer of a travel agency. “Holiday – that’s what I need” she thought. Kelly chose a trip to Italy, because she has never been there before.
One week later she was going by taxi to the airport. Well… actually “going” isn’t an appropriate word because she got stuck in enormous traffic jam. Kelly got to the airport late, but she managed to catch a plane. After few hours she finally landed in Italy. When she was leaving the plain, she felt sun beams on her face what put her in a better mood. She got a taxi. A driver – an elderly Italian – didn’t speak English… so they were keeping silent all the way. At last they got to the hotel. When she was getting out of the car, the man turned back, smiled to her and said: “Ciao Bella!” She also smiled – the first time for a very long time.
For a few days she was sunbathing on a beach, she was going for walks along a shore, she was visiting different interesting places and talking local people – she was getting relaxed and started to forgetting the painful moments.
One day Kelly decided to go on a party which was organized in the hotel. When she came, she noticed that there are a lot of couples. She felt uneasy but she decided to stay. She sat down next to the bar, ordered something to drink and started to watch another people. Suddenly some man appeared next to her and said: “So beautiful woman shouldn’t sit down alone while everybody has fun”, and he asked her to dance. When they got tired, the man got Kelly a drink and they started to talk.  It turned out that his name was Ryan and he also came from London. He was in Italy with his friend because they organized there a bachelor party for one of them. Ryan said that he also had had an unsuccessful relationship. When he saw Kelly to her hotel room, he said that he was glad that he met her.
Kelly was delighted about this evening. Next day she had to come back to London, but unfortunately she didn’t met Ryan again in the hotel, so she even couldn’t say goodbye to him.
When she got home, she felt pretty good – the trip was the best “medicament” for her. Although she had promised herself not to look for next relationship, she was sad because she couldn’t be in touch with Ryan. However, while she was unpacking her baggage, a small piece of paper fell out of her handbag – it was a message from Ryan: “I was too shy to ask you for your phone number. Below I will write you my number and email. I hope you would like to meet me againJ”.
Kelly called Ryan few days later. She didn’t know if she wants to become romantically entangled with him, but they got on well with each other, so she didn’t want to lose this acquaintance. Time will tell if she will get back a belief that she can be happy with somebody in relationship again.

All Saints' Day vs Halloween

Like almost everyone, every year on All Saints' Day I go to the cementeries to mention those who had gone and to ignite candles on theirs graves. It takes me usually all day because graves of members of my family are outside Poznań. By the way I visit my family which lives there. For me, it's the day for making some reflections and for spending time with my family.

If it comes to halloween, I have nothing against:) I celebrate it every year. When I was a child, I and my friends dressed up as witches or ghosts and we were going from house to house, asking people for candies. We were very creative in making up our costumes and "punishments" for people who didn't give us the sweets;) It was very fun:) In my opinion it is all right to celebrate halloween in that way. A lot of people say that it is wrong because in this time we should mention the deceased, instead of organise parties and enjoy that "bad tradition from the west". Of course, I respect that opinion, but I really don't like when these people criticize ones who enjoy halloween. I am not feel guilty because of celebrating it because I think taht we should remember about those who had gone all the year, not only on All Saints' Day and the day before. And I hope they aren't offended;)
